Due to his considerable management experience and practical approach, Michael Greene is a recognized authority on New Mexico’s small business and middle market acquisitions and opportunities. A business broker for over 25 years, he has personally ushered hundreds of restaurants, retail, art galleries, hospitality and middle-market privately held businesses to a successful sale. His demonstrated ability has powered his rise as one of New Mexico’s leading business brokers and M&A specialists. He has helped numerous individuals pursue their dreams, secure their livelihoods, and become their own boss.
After graduating from Harvard Law School, he practiced business law in Southern California where he concentrated on mergers and acquisitions. Since moving to New Mexico over 25 years ago, he has held his New Mexico real estate broker’s license. He presided over a Prudential real estate brokerage focused on commercial real estate and business brokering for over 10 years. In 2002, he helped found the strategic consulting firm The Goldsmith Group, where he managed a portfolio of regional and national clients. In this capacity, he restructured businesses, stream-lined operations, identified new revenue opportunities, and helped organizations focus upon their core competencies.
Since taking the helm of Sam Goldenberg and Associates in 2007, he has grown it into the foremost business brokerage in New Mexico. He founded its sister company Sunbelt New Mexico to serve as New Mexico’s exclusive affiliate of the Sunbelt Network and to serve the entire state as well as parts of southern Colorado.
Juliette Sweet was an indelible part of Sunbelt New Mexico and helped to craft its client-centric culture. Joining the company in 2011, her infinite patience and unfailing grace put clients at ease from the first phone call to the closing table.
She was untiring in her efforts to elevate the client experience, reassuring both buyers and sellers and working diligently behind the scenes to resolve problems. Nothing seemed to dent her upbeat attitude. She exceeded in understand clients’ needs, kept them informed throughout the process, and was always ready to share some light-hearted anecdote that brightened their day. By the end of any transaction, she was fast friends with the clients with whom she worked. Her contributions to the company are evident in the many client testimonials that praise her by name.
Her spirit continues to resonate throughout the office and we still hear echoes of her inimitable laugh. She set a stellar example.
J. Erika Munde
Marketing & Media Relations
Erika works with Michael to promote Sunbelt New Mexico and our businesses for sale throughout New Mexico and beyond. Since graduating from UofM – Ann Arbor, Erika has made her career in marketing and design. She maintains the websites, puts together the business marketing packages, develops the Confidential Business Reviews, produces the slideshows, writes the press releases, and interfaces with the media.
Prior to joining Sunbelt New Mexico, she served as the director of an independently-owned, medium-sized real estate agency and worked as a trade journalist writing highly technical articles regarding special-format film and themed attractions, from zoos to special effects theaters in China. A resident of Santa Fe for nearly 25 years, Erika has been active in many community organizations and has served on a number of civic-related boards.
Client Communications and Services
Kandice joined Sam Goldenberg & Associates in summer 2018. This Santa Fe native’s ties to the community go back generations. She was born into a family of scientists and small business owners, graduated from the University of New Mexico’s dance program, and traveled the world with professional dance troupes. She returned home to Santa Fe in 2013.
Vibrant and vivacious, Kandice’s professional experience spans hospitality, retail, public relations, sales and community outreach. From dancing with the Denver Spurs to general managing one of Santa Fe’s leading eco-conscious retailer and wellness centers, Kandice’s can-do spirit and genuine care for others has been the animating force behind her success.
She communicates with SGA’s clients, helps match buyers with the business that best suits their goals, and provides the white glove customer service that sets SGA apart from the other business brokerages in New Mexico.
Tamara Dawn Johnson,
Tamara has a varied professional background in the arts, sciences, economics and policy research, and education. Before moving to Santa Fe, she worked at the New York Academy of Sciences, helping academics who wanted to cross over to the private sector and running mentorship and public education programs. She also spent over five years living in Asia, during which time she designed and implemented innovative experiential education programing, conducted teacher training programs, researched international education policies, and served on the board of a school for refugees in Kuala Lumpur.
She has received awards for entrepreneurial concepts in startup contests and taught human centered design thinking locally and internationally. She also has extensive journalism experience, writing about dance, science, policy, and economics.
Additionally, Tamara has been an avid dancer for her entire life, performing and teaching in the United States and abroad.
Tamara works with SGA’s media and communications initiatives.
